Tips for Poaching an Egg

The Set-Up

The Set-Up

Boil a pot of water with plenty of salt and white vinegar.

Have a wooden spoon, small bowl or measuring cup and a slotted spoon on hand.

Crack the egg into the small bowl.

When the water boils, turn the heat down so there are only a few bubbles coming to the top of the water. With the wooden spoon, stir the water in a circle creating a little whirlpool. Slowly drop the egg into the center of the whirlpool.

Keep stirring after you’ve dropped the egg until it begins to take shape. Let the egg cook for approximately 2 min.

Remove the egg with a slotted spoon.

Voila! Perfectly poached egg. Gustatelo!
